The US Ambassador's Fund Grant Programme (AFGP) has announced the realignment of its programme priority areas to better address Pakistani people's needs. The newly-defined priorities will complement Pakistan's efforts to empower vulnerable people, strengthen governance institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (including the newly-merged districts), assist local institutions and organizations in forging social tolerance, promoting press freedom and institution building, says a press release issued here on Thursday.

Between October 2017 and April 2019, the AFGP awarded 39 grants. The project plans to award up to 160 more grants under the five priority areas mentioned above. Registered private sector organisations, non-governmental organisations, and non-government research and research and training institutions from all the parts of the country are eligible to apply. -PR
